The
Stade Chess Club was founded in the year
1933 and currently consists out of 80
members with a well balanced age mixture.
SevenTeams
are active within the diffent leagues,
reaching from Verbandsliga down to Kreisklasse.
A close cooperation between a local school
and several elementary
schools led to teenagers participating
within the German- and European Chess
Championships of their respective age
groups.
The 1000 year old city of
Stade is located at the river Elbe
about 50 km west from Hamburg
in the triangle Hamburg, Cuxhaven
and Bremen
and is a well known sightseeing location.
